Giving Back

We believe in the importance of contributing to our local community and giving back to organisations that are not only meaningful to us, but to the wider Spell family.

Future Dreamers

Future Dreamers, a local Byron Bay not-for-profit girls mentoring organisation, acts as an inspiration hub championing positive futures for girls and woman 12-25 years.

They provide a range of free activities, events and meaningful experiences to ignite confidence, creativity, build skills, celebrate individual gifts and foster meaningful connection. We saw ourselves in the girls who attended these workships, and couldn’t help but wish there’d been something similar when we were growing up. Spell supports Future Dreamers by donating $10,000 annually as well as additional mentoring, community fundraising and awareness.

We are a proud Silver Sponsor of Bravehearts, an Australian Charity who's mission is to stop child sexual assault in Australia.

This is a cause very close to our founders hearts, as mothers, but also as daughters of a mother who is a sexual assault surviver. We believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and a whole community to keep them safe.

- From Our Hearts -

Occasionally we are moved by something happening in our world – and have stepped up in one way or another to assist those who need help most:

In the short time we opened our Pop-up in Venice Beach, California the local community embraced us like family! During our time there California experienced some horrific bushfires, many lost their homes, including one of our own team members, who lost her family home in the fire. We were moved by the outpouring of community support all around us and were moved to donate our weekend takings (100% of sales) to the LA Fire Department, a total of $5,349USD.

Returning from a team trip to the Barrier Reef we embarked on a journey to help raise awareness about the current state of our oceans and marine life. Our first move was to hold a community fundraiser and screening of the documentary Blue - with 100% of the proceeds donated to ocean conservation charities Take 3 for the Sea, Australian Sea Bird Rescue, Balu Blue Foundation and Clear Tides Program.

We are so pleased to be able to support the amazing work of The SHIFT Project. Located in Byron Bay, the SHIFT Project is a residential education transitional program for women who are homeless or at risk. SHIFT addresses the gaps following a crisis and empowers women to reconnect with their life. We recently contributed $20 000 towards their fundraising goal of $72 000, which will help grow their project and assist more women throughout our community.

Days for Girls is an international organisation that increases access to menstrual care and education, to girls and women in need all over the globe. Their focus is to create a world with dignity, health, and opportunity for all women. We are able support their amazing work by donating fabric to assist with the production of individual care kits which will be distributed to women who don’t have access to the things most of us take for granted.

We are all about promoting a healthy, active lifestyle, as well as supporting and empowering women in our community, which is why we sponsor the Spell & the Gypsy Collective Byron Bay Wildcats. We love that our contribution allows them to purchase new training equipment, as well as enabling them to run a range of school programs in our local area to promote health, teamwork and positive living to young girls.
