TEZZA

TEZZA

Tessa Barton is someone we've been following for a long time. We've been coveting her ultimate bohemian-cool style, and loving watching her be a gypsy in the city since she moved to NYC. She is a woman of many talents, not only an influencer and creative director of her personal brand, @tezzamb, but a musician fronting beautiful indie band, Doe. She created a beautiful edit of her favourite Spell pieces in a city vs country way - true to her wandering lifestyle.
How do you juggle all of your many talents? When someone asks you what you do, what do you say?

I am really lucky to have found myself in a time of life where I am able to use all of my hobbies, passions and interests combined to make a career. I don’t know if what I do could be confined into a few sentences because it is constantly evolving and I am moving with it. But I do have a life motto that I think sums it up, Live, Create, Repeat.

You pretty much have the voice of an angel - do you think you have a different persona on stage to real life?

There is no question that being on stage another side of me comes out, a side I never knew I had until I started performing. I have always said, even if you have heard my music in recordings or on the internet nothing beats coming to the show, that is half of the reason I do music, I get to release and discover new things about myself.

Best tips on nailing the perfect Insta snap

Good lighting, it really makes everything better and of course candid vibes, you have to try not to try, always feels a little more effortless.

What are your favourite Spell pieces of the moment?

I am crushing on the Etienne Maxi, that dress is timeless! And yellow is seeming to be my favorite color at the moment. And what will probably be a jacket that I pass down to my kids one day because it is so epic is the Anastasia Brocade Faux Fur Jacket!

Your style icon?

I think I would have to say Jane Birkin from her effortless style to her hair and make up she was always beautiful without trying. My current Icon is Erin Wasson, she has that rocker girl, woke up like this vibe that could somehow make a burlap sack look fashionable with a rad belt and lots of silver.

How to find the bohemian girl things in NYC

I will be honest at first this was a challenge, and when moving there I realized how bohemian I was compared to my friends. But there is no better place for vintage than NY, you could roam the streets of the East Village and find some of the best vintage you have ever seen!

Must have beauty products for you right now?

I have been loving Bobby Brown Extra Face Oil, instead of a highlighter I just lightly tap that around my face and it gives a dewy fresh look and smells amazing! I am also a sucker for a dark lip and Bite makes my favorite color - Cognac.

How do you stay creative and inspired?

I think traveling is one of the best ways to stay inspired, there is so much I haven’t seen or experienced and I think putting yourself in a new space is always a way to see with new eyes!
